What we collect, and what we do not.
This page is short because our answer is short. We do not advertise, we do not track you, we do not sell anything about you, and we collect only what we need in order to book a speaker or reply to you.
There are no analytics on this site. No Google Analytics, no advertising pixels, no third-party trackers, and no cookies. The only thing stored in your browser is whether you chose light or dark mode, and that never leaves your device.

What we collect, and why
If you send an inquiry
Your name, email, organization, your role, and what you tell us about the event: the date, where it is, who is in the room, what you want them to leave with, and a budget range. We collect it to answer you and to suggest the right speaker. Nothing here is required except a way to reply to you.
If you subscribe to the journal
Your email address, and your name if you choose to give one. We use it to send occasional notes from the agency and for nothing else. Every message we send will have a way out of it.
If you are a speaker we represent
This is the sensitive one, so it is worth being exact. To book travel on your behalf we may hold your legal name as it appears on your ID, your date of birth, passport number and expiry, driver's licence, Known Traveler or Global Entry number, airline and hotel loyalty numbers, seat preference, dietary requirements and allergies, clothing sizes, and an emergency contact.
You give us this because it saves you being asked the same questions before every trip. It is kept apart from everything else, only the two of us can see it, and it is deleted when we stop working together. See How long we keep things below.
If you sign an agreement with us
Your name, email, organization and title as you enter them, plus the time you signed, the IP address the signature came from, the country it resolved to, and your browser's user agent. Those last four are not supplied by you and cannot be edited afterwards, which is the entire point: they are what make a signature worth something later.
If you edit your own speaker card
Only what you type: your title, your one-line description, your bio, what you speak on, and a photograph if you upload one. The private link we send you is not a login and holds no password.
Where it goes

That is the complete list. There is no fourth thing.
What we never do
- We do not sell or share your personal information, in the ordinary sense or in the specific sense the California Consumer Privacy Act gives those words.
- We do not use anything you tell us to train an advertising profile.
- We do not add inquiry contacts to a marketing list. If you want the journal, you ask for it.
- We do not put sensitive details in email.
How long we keep things

These deletions happen on their own. Most companies keep everything indefinitely and offer a form for requesting removal, which puts the work on the person whose data it is. Ours runs on the schedule above whether or not anyone asks, and when we clear a speaker's identity details we tell them we have.
Your rights
If you live in California, the CCPA as amended by the CPRA gives you the right to know what we hold about you, to get a copy, to correct it, to have it deleted, and to limit how sensitive information is used. You have the right not to be treated differently for asking. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of, but you may still ask.
If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area, you have equivalent rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability and objection.
To use any of them, email hello@therowan.agency. We will reply within a week and act within thirty days. You will not be asked to fill in a form or prove anything beyond that you are who you say you are.
Children
This site is for people booking and delivering professional speaking engagements. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 16.
Security, honestly stated
Access is limited to the two of us. Sensitive fields are kept in a separate table with separate permissions. Notifications are written so they cannot leak the things that matter. Nothing is sent anywhere it does not need to go.
What we will not claim is that any of this is impossible to breach, because nobody can honestly claim that. If something goes wrong we will tell the people affected directly, and quickly, rather than by updating this page.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that affects what we do with something you have already given us, we will email you rather than quietly changing the date at the top.
